In the competitive aviation industry, it is critical to optimize aircraft capacity and enhance the cabin experience while keeping downtimes to a minimum. At the SR Technics Center of Excellence for Cabin Modifications, we have a proven track record of on-time delivery in complex cabin modifications and turnkey solutions. Whether it is maintenance checks, communication and entertainment upgrades, system modifications or the refurbishment of cabin interiors, the one-stop shop at SR Technics has the right solution for airlines, lessors and private customers. In addition to our existing capabilities of the A320 families, A330 and A340 all series and B737 NG, we recently received FOCA and FAA approvals extending our capabilities to a range of cabin modification services and base maintenance for B777 customers. Refurbishments will be handled on a special upgraded line focused entirely on cabin modifications work, with dedicated processes and teams of trained experts, minimizing ground time.
The facts speak for themselves. Earlier this year, we upgraded 12 of Air Europa's Airbus 330 fleet with new IFE systems, and in addition three aircraft were provided with a new business class. By optimizing our work processes over the course of the project, we managed to reduce the estimated ground time of several of the aircraft. In summer, a long-term project involving 12 wide-body aircrafts for SR Technics' partner SAS was completed ahead of the busy summer schedule. We also helped Edelweiss renew the cabins on its A320s. Since several of these aircraft were due for heavy maintenance visits, we coordinated the work to coincide with these inspections in order to keep ground time to a minimum. In addition, we are going to upgrade seven planes for one of Intrepid's new lessors while the first aircraft was delivered including STC on time and on budget. These are just a few of the many successful jobs we have completed in 2016, to the delight of both our customers and their passengers.
