SR Technics, a world leading MRO service provider recently hosted an Indonesian delegation at the company’s Zurich facilities. The delegation, which included Indonesian Minister of Industry H.E. Airlangga Hartarto, Indonesian Ambassador H.E. Linggawaty Hakim and several other high-ranking officials, was interested in learning more about Switzerland’s dual-track vocational training approach as well as the training services SR Technics offers. The visit of the delegation in Zurich was organised by SITECO Association for Swiss International Technical Connection, Zurich, an NGO promoting the Swiss model of dual vocational education abroad, realizing a pilot project in Indonesia.

The delegation visited the vocational training department, the modern training center and other SR Technics facilities. The company’s flexible training solutions and tailor-made courses offer both hands-on training on actual aircraft as well as comprehensive classroom learning. On average, SR Technics trains some 2,800 professionals each year in preparation for B1 and B2 PART 147 licenses as well as Part 145 approved qualifications, among further maintenance training options.

In addition, the visitors learned about SR Technics’ vocational training capabilities that offer a long-term training program giving students the competences and qualifications they need for jobs that are currently in demand. This vocational training, a true hallmark of Switzerland, creates an impressive talent pool that meets the needs of businesses. Young students learn and work at the same time, and are hence trained for the specific needs of the industry. The delegation members were particularly impressed by the technical competence and stupendous communication skills of the second year apprentices they met during their visit at SR Technics.

“We were very pleased to welcome the Indonesian delegation to our Zurich facilities,” said Jeremy Remacha, SR Technics’ CEO. “Their interest in SR Technics and our training programs is yet another indicator of our strong global brand and the quality we are known for worldwide. In addition, Indonesia is a very important market for us, and we are looking forward to developing our local partnerships.”

SR Technics’ expertise is planned to be utilized in an ambitious upgrade program for the Indonesian MRO industry, initiated by the Ministry of Industry, and planned to be organized through SITECO's school-industry platform APII Association of Politekniks and Industry Indonesia.

The SR Technics training centers in Zurich and Abu Dhabi are EASA, GCAA and CASA approved, and offer basic aircraft maintenance training; type training on Airbus and Boeing and the corresponding engines; practical training on aircraft operation; as well as specialized training including web-based training courses. Offering inspiring learning experience, SR Technics training solutions are made flexible to help participants fit training into their busy schedules.
